Hemes – Who Needs Love

A few seconds of listening to the dulcet tones of Hemes and you’ll soon find yourself in a state of unadulterated bliss with her divine vocal having a euphonious quality that sends shivers down my spine in a heartbeat. The UK artist born to both Arabic parents is best described as the stylistic brooding yet sensual sound of The Weeknd merged together with the otherworldly vocals of Ariana Grande, which kind of makes sense considering those two collaborated in the past, and don’t get me started on her undeniable lyrical prowess.

She released her debut track recently titled Who Needs Love and within the first few seconds she manages to breathe new life into the genre with a subtle dark pop inclusion within the sensual production as well as a honeyed vocal that evokes so much emotion with just a simple riff that it’s hard not to feel connected with her. With just one release things are looking very auspicious for this new artist and her ascent to the top looks like it’s going to be a journey well worth watching.
