Arran George – Lilo

Bedroom pop doesn’t get much finer than what Cumbria’s very own Arran George produces. He manages to take us away from our mundane lives through his earnest lyrical storytelling and into an entirely new world made only with his imagination. He draws you into this mystical place and makes you never want to leave with his latest track Lilo being a prime example of this with it offering us a place of solace and warmth from the times we’re in.

Raw emotion comes cascading down on your from the moment it starts to the moment in ends with George’s vocal having this subtle cry to it that makes the juxtaposing lyrics which point to slightly darker moment as he explains, “It’s like watching someone pull the rug out from under you and you’re both sad it’s happening, it’s what you would feel on the way to the floor”. The lo-fi production only helps bring out this feeling more with the reverberating guitar riffs and somber synth melodies creating an ambient atmosphere that captivates from start to finish.

If you haven’t already dived into the world of Arran George’s music then I highly recommend you do because he’ll make you feel less alone in this world.
