If you’ve been on the music side TikTok this past year then chances are you’ve stumbled across needanamebro. The wunderkind pop trio hailing from London have grown a cult following through their string of covers on the platform, specifically their Sam Smith Unholy cover where the ‘unholy’ section sounds both angelic and haunting. They hadn’t even dropped a single song yet and they had fans foaming at the mouth over their new covers like they were headlining the O2. They even got some sign offs from big names like the Sugababes, Cat Burns, and Mahalia, to name a few.
Being only 19 or 20 respectively, this trio are wise beyond their years. Knowing how to market themselves to their audience, produce glowing pieces of content that capture people’s attention, but elevating their musicality every time too. They’ve got a spark that’s impossible to replicate, along with a vocal chemistry that produces lush harmonies that rival some of the greats. Now Amelia, Yssy and, Maddie have dropped their debut single and it’s only up from here.
Better Love is sublime, there’s no other way to describe it. For a rising girlband who are looking to take over the UK’s girlband crown after the disbandment of Little Mix, this could not be a better introduction to new fans. The vocals are impeccable, the lyrical storytelling creates a vivid picture in your mind, the production puts full focus on their talent, and the visuals are the cherry on top.
They might be called needanamebro but I’m certain everyone will know their name soon.
