Without a doubt one of the best artists I’ve heard in 2020 right now is Tia Carys, until recently I hadn’t heard any of her music and damn were those some wasted months because this is on another level. Her passion in another level but her lyrics are pure poetry with her evoking the whole spectrum of human emotion through her vivd storytelling and unwavering delivery that makes her, in my eyes, one of the best things to come out of the UK rap scene in recent years.
Intro hits me harder than other tracks, as someone who is bisexual her lyrics describing her experiences with people disagreeing her sexuality, their contradicting ways and her willingness to love and live fearlessly despite the naysayers really hit home. This is one of the best tracks to come out of 2020 and in terms of storytelling I’d go as far to say that this will be up there as one of the best of the decade. Tia Carys is something incredibly special and is leading the UK into its new rap golden age with power, passion and unwavering confidence. Utterly outstanding.
