Lindsey Lomis – Feel

-

Over past few years Gen Z has been dominating the music world and rightly so with artists like Lorde and Billie Eilish challenging people’s perceptions on what a pop icon should be and, with the way it’s looking, I can see the 17 year old Nashville native Lindsey Lomis being added to that list. It’s clear to see why this Altadena/Warner Records signee is has already been praised by industry veteran Allen Stone and is followed on social media by current pop icons such as Shawn Mendes and Meghan Trainor with her brand of soulful pop capturing the darker sides of adolescence being utterly captivating.

Today she’s unveiled her first track since her 2019 EP Chapter 1 and she is not messing around with Feel being a cross genre and cutting edge track about the dramas that come with teenage friendships with the cadence lyrics making piece even more relatable to her demographic. Her music has a theatricality to it that enhances the dramatic nature of her vocal effortlessly as sparse electronic flairs pop up to give the track that subtle edge to make the sonic texturing utterly divine. She takes what made classic soul and pop music so great and brings it round to the modern era, a sophisticated soul bursting from a young perspective.

She’s a future icon in the making and we’ll leave you on a quote from her about what she wants her music to do for people, “When people come home from a long day, I want my songs to help them feel like they dropped the weight of the world off their shoulders.” Safe to say she’s on the right track to doing that very soon.
