Doul – Don’t

17 year old Japanese musician Doul has created quite a name for herself in 2020 with her acoustic rock sound taking influence from the likes of The Rolling Stones and Nirvana, however today she gives us an unexpected twist that has left us reeling for weeks on end. Throwing caution to the wind she’s channeled addictive baselines, subtle vocal melodies and killer rap flow into her bombastic single that sees her get rid of the genre conventions she was tied to and become something utterly enthralling.

Don’t is an explosive and vibrant track that doesn’t fit into any genre with their being hardcore rap melodies towards the end of the track, thumping house basslines that reverberate through your body, K-Pop flavoured dance melodies and a piano pop ballad element that leaves me in awe of her talent. I haven’t even mentioned her passionate vocal delivery that is like chameleon with it being able to fit into what ever genre styling she needs it to.

Doul is unlike any artist out there right now and I know that she’s someone who soon the whole world will know about. Keep an eye on this one.
