Because of COVID we’ve ended up missing a lot of things we took for granted over the past years, the main one being just the joys of human contact and meeting people whom we’ve never seen before. It’s a small thing in the grand scheme of things but it’s something I believe everyone has missed during the lockdown and the British band KOKO have put all those feelings into their latest release So Nice To Meet You and, as expected, it’s another certified banger to add to their over growing collection.
“It’s all about meeting someone for the first time and getting that excitement…the butterflies,” The band begin to explain how the track came to be. “It’s a feeling we’ve missed for a LONG time this year – so it’s definitely a song with a lot of optimism for the future.”
If you’re a fan of the downtempo tracks like Heathens that Twenty One Pilots produce then you’re going to want to dive into this number. It’s a somber yet jubilant track with a pulsating bassline that reverberates through your body with a subtle reggaeton vibe thrown in their and the brooding vocals being the cherry on top of the whole affair. This Bristol trio are hands down one of my favourite acts emerging from the UK’s independent scene right now and I cannot wait for them to continue to create the soundtrack to all our Saturday nights out in the future.
