When you grow up in a small town in the middle of nowhere you often have a different point of view from everyone else in the world and I feel that’s what helped Rising Italian artist HÅN create her beautifully emotive and dreamlike sound. She just manages to blend these gorgeous ethereal vocals with a more ominous production almost effortlessly and her latest offering Lens is a perfect example of this.
“It’s about the abuse of power and the ways in which it creeps in relationships between people,” HÅN explains. “It is very easy to feel held back, not being able to express what you think freely and this track is a sort of reminder to the relevance of doing it instead. It is a statement saying that in the end I will always be the one to decide for myself.”
Lyrically this track battle this subject of an imbalance of power quite beautifully, it’s almost poetic in a lot cases with them capturing the scary aspect whilst also offering an empowering point of view for when you begin to take care of yourself. HÅN doesn’t disappoint in the vocal department either with her tender voice floating across the ominous production to capture this intense emotion effortlessly. Then when you combine all that with the dreamlike melodies you’ll find it hard not to fall head over heels for this single.
