There is something completely mesmerising about Brooklyn based singer songwriter ÊMIA. Her brand of honest pop makes each relatable and poignant lyric weave a beautiful tale that transports you into her world that will soon have you reaching for the tissues. Her latest single If You Can’t Take The Rain is further proof of this with an empowering sensibility and an emotionally enthralling atmosphere to match.

One of the highlights of this track is ÊMIA’s captivating vocal that oozes passion where you believe every word she sings with the hushed production surrounding her putting more emphasis on her hypnotic vocal display. The emotional resonance of the single comes from personal experience with ÊMIA explaining, “I wrote ‘If You Can’t Take The Rain’ as a way to feel strong at a time when I was constantly afraid of being an emotional burden.

On top of all that you’ve also got a strikingly beautiful video that takes you on a rollercoaster ride of emotion with a gorgeously shot narrative. It takes you on the lows she experiences in her relationship but also the highs as she learns to find the confidence within herself. On top of that one of the best parts of this video has to be the choreography between ÊMIA and her partner who convey tense emotional nature of it perfectly, which is even more impressive when you realise she’s never danced before. Combine all that together and you’ve got a stunning piece of music with an aesthetically pleasing video to match.
