When I was fourteen years old I was barely able to write a coherent sentence, then you’ve got fourteen year olds like Arizona based singer songwriter Riley Whittaker who can play the guitar, piano, violin and ukulele like it’s second nature. Oh and she’s also managed to craft a melodic folk pop track that wouldn’t feel too out of place in some of Taylor Swift’s earlier country albums.
Knew You Would a sweet little number with a somber acoustic guitar melody being the main focus of the production with an understated percussion being thrown in the mix later down the line. The lyrics tell a story to them with them weaving a tale of longing as her enchantingly ethereal vocal guides you through this story with this whimsical nativity that adds a wonderful charm to the track that just puts a smile on your face. It’s just an endearing piece of music that is hard not to fall in love with.
