I love those moments when you listen to a song for the first time where everything about the track feels like a special musical experience. It’s a rare but when it happens you feel like you’ve been transported to a whole new world where it’s only you with the song being your soundtrack. It’s a beautiful experience and songwriter Sean Kennedy has managed to achieve that with his latest offering.
Young & Depressed has these very poignant and honest lyrics that weave a tale that you follow throughout the track with the atmospheric production create an intimate nature to the track and the earnest vocal of Kennedy being your guide through this tale. What I love most about this track though is the fact it doesn’t have these big moments, the laidback and stripped styling of the track allows you to follow the story, connect with the meaning of the track and feel every bit of emotion this song has to offer. This is an extraordinarily special track that can only be described as sheer perfection.
