A lot of modern girlbands go with traditional pop bangers that are perfect for singing to with a hairbrush in hand. So we have to say it’s extremely refreshing to see UK based girlband Unperfect go for a more laidback 90’s esque R&B approach with their debut Gots To Give The Girl that is reminiscent of Sade’s early music.
The track follows a minimalistic production with soft drum beats leading the track with occasional addition of a Spanish influenced guitar melody that allows the girls vocal to really shine and create a track that has a wonderful charm to it. On first listen you wouldn’t think you’d be singing the hook but we’ve found ourselves softly humming along to the bridge all day long, seriously Chloe, Siobhan, Soipan and Tiah singing “Boy you better run run run run / Just look at what you’ve done done done done” will be in your head for days to come.
Unperfect are a modern girlband with their smooth R&B flavoured self penned pieces of music being truly addictive. A fresh girlband with musical flair that makes them an act to keep a close eye on.
