Haunting, emotional, enthralling, spine tingling, these are all words that perfectly describe Loyal Lobos and her latest track. The artist, who currently resides in Los Angeles, has crafted some gorgeous indie songs in her time with the likes of the laid back alt rock gem Dirt and the more uplifting track The Fall. However today it is her latest track Swim that has left me speechless.
The track is Loyal Lobos most stripped back to date with it starting off with the soft strumming of an acoustic track but one of the most spectacular things about this track is how it builds. The ending is a huge climax of heavy drums and slick electric guitars juxtapositioning the soft vocals of Loyal Lobos creating a dynamic sound that is something magnificent to listen to. The ethereal nature of this track only compliments that build further with the starting and the ending contrasting each other perfectly. The lyrics are also pure poetry, there’s no other way to describe them and that actually is the best way to describe her music. Poetry in motion.
