Kelsy Karter has officially gone from pop queen to rock god with her latest track. The artist, originally from New Zealand, has experimented in pop music in the past but as of late has been coming forward as one of the new faces to lead rock into the modern era with her blues orientated track Sad Sad Summer flooring us earlier in the year. Now her latest one sees her fully make a name for herself as a raw rock performer.

God Knows I’ve Tried starts of with a slick electric guitar that set the mood for this arousing rock ballad that builds into a powerful and enthralling anthem. Karter’s vocal is simply immaculate in this track with huge amounts of emotion, sass and prowess that gives this track a certain edge that launches it into the stratosphere and makes you sit up and take notice. All I can say is that this is the type of track I want to see performed with a live band and Karter fronting it performing to the same capacity of Mick Jagger and Steven Tyler. This track can only be defined as the new classic.

I’ve spent my whole life being rebellious and doing what people told me not to do and when you have that kind of spirit, somebody always gets hurt. I guess ‘God Knows I’ve Tried’ is just my apology letter in the form of a rock and roll ballad.” – Kelsy Karter
