The Philadelphia hip hop scene is one of the best in the entire United States of America with big hitters like Meek Mill originating from the city but also fresh up comers like Bri Steves who stands next in a long line of legendary Philly narrators. The female hip hop artist released a summer anthem recently called Jealousy that offered her own unique flavour to the modern hip hop scene whilst also offering throwbacks to the golden generation.
Now she’s offered a new track in the form of Ain’t Shit that is a complete flip from Jealousy and demonstrates just how versatile she is. Throughout the track Steves spits straight bars, she is packing some serious heat, over a deep bassline that is reminiscent of classic Missy Elliott tracks. Bri Steves is set to soon be a powerhouse in the hip hop industry with her outstanding bars and rhythm as well as having the support from the likes of Ty Dolla $ign, Miguel and Kendrick Lamar, the latter who recently brought her on stage at a concert. A true up and comer who I see nothing but big things for.
“When you listen to me, I hope you take away strength. A big focus of my music is empowerment for women. I want you to feel strong. That’s my dream.” – Bri Steves
