With every single released I find myself falling more and more deeply in love with the luscious classic tones of Marie Dahlstrom’s soulful vocal. She never disappoints, each time I hear her voice I end up getting chill all across my body and her latest single, Home With You, about embracing your own flaws is no exception.
“I wanted to write about flaws in a kind and positive way,” Marie explains. “I wanted to hone in on what makes us who we are. The absence of something in a person’s life, makes room for the presence of something else. ‘Home With You’ is a song about celebrating honesty and compassion in love, even if it isn’t always easy.”
With heartfelt and uplifting lyrics like, “I will accept your flaws / Just the way that you’re accepting mine / No, I’m not really one to judge,” sprinkled throughout the track you’ll find it hard not to have a small smile on your face as you listen to this. There’s an old school Mo-Town vibe coming from the production that Dahlstrom’s vocal effortlessly glides over and then you have the honest nature of this whole track which is just the cherry on top.
