The Wants are one of the hottest bands coming out of NYC right now with the group already getting a lot of love from music publications across the globe and getting regular air play on Radio 6. Their sound is ridiculously unique too with them fusing post-punk with early 80’s techno to create something utterly different from everything else out there right now, just listen to their latest offering The Motor if you want proof of this.

The minimalistic production uses a slick looping guitar riff mixed with a heavy percussion section that gets your foot tapping with ease, but the main highlight is how the track builds. It continues to grow throughout with the guitar riff being the main focus until you reach the end where the piece explodes into this cacophony of pure madness resulting in this feeling of unstoppable locomotion. It’s addictive, it’s simple but most important of all it is a damn good song.
