Manchester’s music scene has been going through a strong renaissance as of late with hundreds of talented artists emerging from the underground scene and into the spotlight with the quartet Larkins being a prime example of this. They had a great 2019 and they’re kicking off their 2020 with a bang as their latest single Flood being a shining beacon of positivity.
Filled to the brim with these shimmering 80’s inspired synths and guitar riffs this track is just dripping with nostalgia but still manages to retain this modern edge through their killers hooks and addictive vocal that is reminiscent of The 1975 mixed with a bit of Bastille. It’s also incredibly uplifting with the joyous sound and overwhelmingly positive message it delivers in a world which is currently mired with bad news.
