Keir Gibson offers up a cathartic pop experience in “Hollow”

Based in Fort William in Scotland Keir Gibson has already released a stellar debut in the form of the emotionally enticing pop track Eyes Wide that showcased his sound to the world. Now he’s released his follow up single Hollow which flips the switch and sees the Scotsman go to a more cathartic pop sound that is equally as enticing.

There’s this lush contract between the more melancholy verses and euphoria inducing chorus that creates a compelling dynamic to the storytelling nature of this track and continues with Gibson’s honest vocal oozing emotion through every poetic lyric. The production is reminiscent of the sound from Taylor Swift’s 1989 album which gives it this grand pop feel and when you combine that with the storytelling nature of his lyrics you’ve got a rather extraordinary piece of alternative pop.
