Having been to the LGBTQ+ super pub/nightlife venue The Glory a few times in my time I must say that I am loving seeing it being the backdrop for Rookes’ music video and the fact that the entire caste for this video are members of the LGBTQ+ community. It gets even better when you realise it’s all for her Robyn-esque (always a good thing) anthem titled Liminal.
This is one of those songs that can me you feel two completely different emotions, depending on what type of person you are. You either feel this unbridled sense of joy to the point where you’ll be singing along effortlessly to the addictive hooks or a sense of sadness through the more melancholy vocals. This entirely makes sense though because this whole track is about her own love stories as she began to explore her queer identity, the ups and downs, the highs and lows, everything about this experience for her put into one beautifully curated song and video.
