London based Portuguese singer Mai Kino exploded onto the scene back in 2015 with her debut track Burn which WAS followed up by her debut EP The Waves but since then she has been almost silent. Until now that is where Kino has returned with a poignant track that combines intimate moments of pure bliss with huge anthemic sounds to create a enthralling juxstaposition.
Young Love is Kino’s announcement to the world that she has returned with an alluring hushed vocal with it’s calming quality mixed with layered electronic melodies and a clashing of synths during the chorus that creates a euphoric feeling unlike any other track Kino has produced. There’s even a cinematic quality to the song that feels like it belongs in a movie during the climatic moment where the whole audience is left in awe.
With the alluring quality, ethereal nature, haunting vocal and a captivating production it’s hard not to fall in love with Kino’s comeback single. All I can say is that it’s great to have her back.
