As we begin to get older we’ll often find ourselves looking back on our youth fondly and the joys that came with wandering around the town finding things to keep us entertained, searching for fun and dealing with boredom. It’s this retrospective that inspires David James Allen in his dreamy yet cathartic single titled Just Kids.

The 1960’s sound of this track offers a fresh perspective on teenage adolescence which usually goes to a more pop punk sound, it makes it feel more real and like you are now the older person looking back at what you remember your youth to be. The lyrics have a subtle poignancy to them with the melancholy yet playful production helping to amplify them further to the point where you can’t help but associate this song to a memory of your own youth.
