The Chicago based band Twin Peaks have marked their return today with the wonderfully uplifting alternative number What’s The Matter. Genuinely we couldn’t of asked for a better gift to receive on a Thursday with the hazy guitar melodies, lush gang vocals and lyricisms that we lose ourselves in as a we get transported to a whole new world through their unmistakable sound. It’s a song that was so badly needed and will undoubtably give people the little boost that they need to get through the day with the bands honey drizzled euphoria inducing melodies making all their worries melt away.
They’ve also announced their EP Side A will be coming out on July 3rd which was predominately recorded at the bands recording studio Treehouse Studios. The band also issued a statement regarding the release below:
“At the beginning of 2020 we started working on new material – ever keeping the ball rolling towards the next Twin Peaks album. At the onset of this pandemic, we realized our recording efforts would be waylaid, so we worked to finish the songs closest to completion remotely; vocals done one at a time in the studio or sent from home; contributions for OHMME, V.V. LIGHTBODY, LALA LALA and Tom Reeder all delivered from their own recording set ups. 10” vinyl to follow this fall – those who pre-order get all four songs immediately. Out everywhere July 3rd.“
“All proceeds from our ‘BUSINESS TEE’ will be donated to Black Lives Matters Chicago, and each month we will rotate which item in our merch store is for benefit and what cause/organisation said items benefit. We ask all our supporters join us in continuing to educate ourselves, listen, donate, share resources and allow ourselves to learn. POWER TO THE PEOPLE”
