The Tacoma, Washington based indie rock outfit Modern Daze make music that makes you feel as if you’re in the final moments of a coming of age movie, as you begin to drive down the highway into the sunset, the credits roles and their anthemic music begins to play. Their sun kissed sound is perfectly represented in Barcelona with an 80’s influenced synth melody, raw bass lines, enthralling guitar riffs and an uplifting vocal that gives this track that extra bit of flair.
What I love about their sound though is that it’s not in your face and what I mean by that is that it doesn’t come at you with all these bells and whistles that are meant to grab your attention from modern pop records. Instead with their music you listen to it once and you slowly find yourself getting more and more intimate with the sound until you’re clinging onto the euphony of their music and not wanting to let go.
