Jessica Winter – Chasing Nightmares

Over the past few years pop has been going through an experimental shift with more artists coming out with innovative ways to create compelling pieces of music. The Brixton based musician Jessica Winter is a fine example of this with her fusing a brooding alternative pop sound with a mixture of 80’s inspired synths that wouldn’t feel too out of place in Stranger Things to create something completely unique.

Chasing Nightmares is her latest intoxicating number with an ominous atmosphere to the piece lingering throughout with the use of disjointed electric guitar riffs and her gothic vocal matching it note for note. It’s the type of number that takes melodies you’d expect to hear in a club and gives them an alternative electronica twist that has you begging for more.

Her debut EP Sad Music drops this Friday and if you’re into this track like we are then that EP is definitely gonna be worth checking out.
