The London based Polish born musician Òlah Bliss has us fixated on her the second we started listening to her music. The uniquely toned raspy vocal she has mixed with hard-hitting production style creates is utterly encapsulating. Whenever she announces a new track you know you’re going to have a new musical addiction and We Only Live Once is a prime example of that with me knowing that I’m going to be playing this on repeat for weeks, probably months, to come.
There’s a raw emotion behind the lyricisms of the piece with certain moments catching you off guard with the pain they convey, such as the lyrical hook, “My boyfriend’s at home / What the fuck should I say / I made a mistake / We only live once.” She has you pondering the complexity of relationships through the pure honesty in her vocal to the back beat of some hard-hitting bass lines and synth melodies. Pure fire and pure excellence from this rising star.
