Throughout life we will encounter people who will shape who we are. Their life, their experiences, their triumphs, their failures, they tell them to us in the hope that we learn from their mistakes and live a long and happy life. They help us grow and become someone that they wanted to be. One of these chance encounters with a man at a bar inspired Jerry Williams to write her latest track about him.

David At The Bar is one of the most beautiful storytelling tracks I’ve ever heard. Williams weaves a beautiful tale through honest lyrics about David’s life, about how he’s got a baby on the way, how he’s an alcoholic and how he’s scared he’s ruined his life with her passionate vocal guiding you through his life and sending chills down your spine at the same time. The emotion builds throughout with the climax at the end of the track being something really special with the message hopefully inspiring others to change their life for the better as well.

I won’t lie, this song made me cry. The story just hit me in away that most music doesn’t, it was like a wave of emotion came crashing down on me and in the moment I felt so many different feelings before finally letting it all out. Jerry Williams’ passion for David At The Bar is something special and I hope that this song finds its way back to him to show how that one moment has changed her life and how he can change his too.

“We just started crying together, which sounds really strange, but it was a lovely moment and I just felt this weird, bizarre connection to this man. He said “If you write a song about me I promise I’ll give up drink” and I said, “You should give up drink anyway, but I will”. The next day this song was written, I haven’t found him to tell him but I would love to find him. His name is David and I literally just met him at a bar, and that’s what this song is about.” – Jerry Williams
